The Majestic Hotel & Apartments is one such testament – formerly a hotel, it was built in 1916, rescued from ruin in 2006 and converted (along with a few other buildings) into an eye-catching pink complex in the very hub of Kalk Bay. It’s now called The Majestic Village, and this one-bedroom apartment is both convenient and comfortable, with a fully equipped kitchen and large windows that let in the light and the sound of the sea.
