With its quaint shops and restaurants and scenic natural beauty, Knysna is one of the most beloved towns on the Garden Route – and Thesen Island is a secluded sanctuary all of its own. It’s also home to Sunset Lane on Fairmile Point, a freestanding double-storey house on the edge of the sparkling Knysna Lagoon. The lower level is open-plan, with a kitchen, dining area and lounge that flows out onto the pool deck, complete with an outdoor dining area and a gas braai. There’s also a sheltered sun conservatory for windier afternoons and evenings. When it’s time for bed, head upstairs to one of the three large ensuite bedrooms.
