Bosjes Herehuis: Standard Suite

  • 2 guests
  • 1 bedroom
  • 1 bathroom

Off the beaten track, at the foot of the Waaihoek Mountains, Bosjes is a breathtaking Breede Valley hideaway of exceptional views, magical gardens and awe-inspiring architecture, where you’ll want to linger longer.

The 1790 manor on the property has been converted into a guest lodge with seven suites. Designer Liam Mooney was inspired by the setting and Cape Dutch architecture, retaining many historical features (such as the beautifully carved front door and yellowwood ceilings), adding contemporary, local touches that subtly echo its heritage. The luxe suites feature modern four-poster beds, fireplaces and generous couches for enjoying the view – which might include giraffes, zebras and antelope in the adjacent game camp. There’s a library and sunroom opening onto a terrace beside a heated lap pool, a beauty room for spa treatments, and a dining room where guests enjoy breakfast and dinner.

Bosjes is a natural playground, whether it’s the award-winning landscaped gardens that draw you in, or the wilder mountain paths. Add an excellent bistro, deli-café, tea garden and that chapel, and it adds up to a real spoil of a stay.

THE LODGINGS

The yellow wood ceiling dating from 1790 can still be seen in this beautifully renovated room. This is the only original suite in the Manor House and is accessible from reception. The room faces the stoep and has no direct access to the swimming pool.
