Rivergate: Potters Shed Cottage

There’s country charm and understated luxury aplenty at Rivergate Guest Farm, located on a bank of the Klein River just a short drive from Stanford. The property is home to an array of farm animals, including alpacas, chickens and miniature donkeys, adding to its authentic rural appeal. Guests can choose between four self-catering cottages (each with a wood-fired hot tub) where carefully sourced Cape country furniture and beautiful fabrics create a memorable farm getaway.

The property boasts a picturesque garden with meticulously cultivated flowerbeds, fruitful orchards, and a flourishing vegetable garden. The latter supplies the on-site restaurant, which is open on Fridays and Saturdays for delicious lunches, decadent cakes and coffee. Additionally, guests can order braai baskets, cheese boards, or other meals to be enjoyed in the comfort of their own cottage.

There’s easy access to the river for fishing, swimming and canoeing, and the area offers plenty of opportunities for hiking and mountain-biking. Stanford, with its shops, galleries, restaurants and wine estates, is just a short drive away.
