Perched on the banks of an expansive, sparkling lagoon that swirls out to sea between the two sandstone cliffs known as the Heads, the tucked-away town of Knysna has long been one of the Garden Route’s most precious gems. There are quirky restaurants, boutique shops and countless natural attractions – and when you’re done with all of those, there’s Leisure Isle, a tranquil island oasis surrounded by the lagoon and connected to the mainland via a narrow causeway.
