Cederkloof Botanical Retreat: One Bedroom Chalet

Say the name and you can already smell the pure, fragrant air… Part of a working farm just outside Citrusdal, on the edge of the wilderness, this scenic escape is perched on fynbos-covered slopes overlooking the Olifants River valley, and surrounded by the Cederberg’s striking rock formations. The 10 chalets (six sleep 2 people, four sleep 4 people) are set amid the fynbos gardens, with floral beauty, birdsong and fresh air guaranteed. Each has a sleek jacuzzis fed with spring water, with views that stretch to eternity. There are also glamping-style Forest Tents and The Opstal, a five-bedroomed house sleeping up to 10 people.

THE LODGINGS

The six one-bedroomed chalets are bachelor-style, open-plan units that give access to a private veranda (with jacuzzi) that provides scenic views over the valley.
