Abalone Lodge: Standard Room

Perched on the edge of shore-hugging Sievers Point, this four-star guest lodge is a wonderful place to rest your head. Located right on the cliff path, it overlooks the crashing waves below and towering mountains in the distance, and has a lot to offer both business and leisure travellers.

Hermanus is particularly popular during whale season (August to October each year), and Sievers Point is considered the best land-based area to watch these gentle giants. Situated between the bustling town centre and the pristine Blue Flag swimming beaches, it’s also an ideal spot for bird-watchers, thanks to a green belt of local fynbos.

Abalone Guest Lodge also boasts a restaurant (dinner to be booked in advance), an infrared sauna, a wellness centre, a gym, a saltwater pool and a treatment room for aromatherapy massages, reflexology and beauty treatments (also available by prior arrangement). What’s not to love?
